Does it seem more money is being spent on elections now than in years past? Here in Washington State, or the other Washington, there’s an initiative, I-522. It has to do with labeling food so customers know if it is genetically engineered. Although there are other elections taking place this is the only one with television ads every night on every channel. The attorney general from the state suited to get the name of all the companies who have contributed to the NO campaign. Why are we getting so many campaigns where those who support an initiative or a candidate want to keep their names hidden?
It stinks. It smells as if people, groups, or businesses want to buy an election and not let anyone know they have. What are they trying to hide? We find strange bedfellows when we take a closer look. Why is it that Pepsico and Coca-Cola both contribute to the same campaign?
Well, I think we are getting more divided as a nation every day. Neither side, or in some cases every side, tells the truth. How stupid do they all think we are? Have we proven we will only listen to what “they” have to say? Haven’t we, as parents, told our children to always tell the truth? At what age does it become okay to lie? I think it’s about the age when you can run for congress. I can’t wait for the presidential and congressional elections in 2016. It will be a boost to the economy.
