My sports teams didn’t do well this weekend. My college team lost, my pro team lost and my golf team lost. I don’t mean the President’s cup, but my two man best ball team. We’ve been playing in this tournament for a number of years and actually won about five years ago. Lately our scores haven’t been competitive. With the handicap system anyone is supposed to be able to win. It hasn’t worked out for us recently.
Everyone should compete and be part of a team. It forces you to train, focus, and depend on others to help you be successful. None of us get through life all by ourselves. Everyone should know what it feels like to win… but also lose. To be successful, you have to have failed, in my case many times. Each time I go to this tournament I’m not thinking about losing, I’m thinking about winning. I don’t think about how bad this shot is going to be, but how good I can make it. Should I take the 1 in a 100 shot or the 1 in 3? Remember, it’s not just you but your team that is depending on you. So make the right decisions at the right times and don’t look back. You might make a different choice next time and win. PS when my book comes out next month, buy a copy. It’s my 1 in 10,000 shot….
