It was cold in the room, but there was sweat all over his face. His hands were cold and his fingers nearly numb. The screens lit up with sequences he had memorized and he thought he was okay. He just had to take his time and break into his own system. What was his back door code? It was the name of the woman right outside that he thought of every night, Saranumber1. His chilled fingers danced across the keyboards as he leapfrogged between computers remembering the steps. Everything was easy until he heard a high-pitched screech and several bells going off.
He glanced at the screens of all four computers and found the one he thought had triggered the noise. It was in a countdown mode and was now at ten seconds. Ten seconds to stop the program. Ten seconds to enter the right code. He pushed control, Alt, and page up. A box came up and he entered his password and the noise stopped. There was probably one more alarm unless the program had been modified. He waited and saw the number three computer bringing up a new screen. Chuck stepped over to that computer and waited. The sounds returned and he entered another password, LuckyChuck1. Again the only sound he heard was the pounding of his own heart. He stepped back and looked at all four screens.
