I have a dream.

I have a dream.

Most everyone in America has read about Martin Luther King. We celebrate his birthday every January and his famous line “I have a dream” has been heard many times and used by others. He showed all of us the power of non-violent protesting. Dr. King stood up for the poor, the colored, the miss treated, and told everyone “we” need to care and share America with all of our citizens. Fifty years ago hundreds of thousands of people stood with him as he spoke in Washington DC.
Fifty years later much has changed here in America. There’s school equality, no separate bathrooms for “coloreds”, and equality for many people choosing a different life style. I look at things differently today than I did fifty years ago listening to his speech live. The television is now color rather than black and white, just like the lives of many. When I look forward I see hope for everyone. Are we now perfect? Far from it, but we are a lot closer than fifty years ago.
