Who should America help?

Sometimes it angers me that “we” Americans think we can solve everything by dropping a few bombs on the bad guys. Syria is in deep trouble and the question is what should be done about it? Over the last few years there have been numerous opportunities to bomb places. Whether it is Syria, Tunisia, Egypt, or Libya the area around the Mediterranean is a hotbed for change. Regime changes are being attempted all over. But who are the “good” guys and who are the “bad” guys?
Are all the rebels in Syria fighting for change to a more democratic and elected government or are many fighting to make Syria a more controlled Muslim state? How many countries should the United States get involved with to make political change? Egypt is a military controlled state that America has supported for decades in the name of stability. We are the most powerful nation in the world, but we are not the rulers of the world. Would we have wanted someone to interfere in our battle for independence? The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend.
