Mother’s day is Sunday. A day to honor the great woman who brought each of us into this world, nourished us, and provided us with decades of care and love. The true meaning of all this is lost on most of us until you can no longer thank our mother. We all have certain phrases our mother used. Certain things she said, some having deep meaning while other made us wonder what planet she came from.
Looking back, some conversations now make more sense while others, well we’d never use that phrase. I remember my freshman year in college when I was ready to quit. I’d had enough and classes were much harder than I thought I could manage. My mother told me to just get to end of “this” quarter and then make a decision. Well before the end of that quarter came, I had to sign up for the next quarter’s classes, which I did just in case. One quarter led to another and then I graduated. I never thanked my mother for this small piece of advice that shaped the rest of my life. Thanks mom….
